Hiya, I'm Steph, a Biddable Account Manager and on dog-friendly Fridays I bring in Brave, my five-year-old rescue Pomeranian and professional office dog (although he prefers the title Hound Relations Manager).
I’m an account manager with eight years of experience in marketing of all shapes and sizes (think everything from social media to SEO and web development). While studying journalism at university I fell in love with marketing - every day I learn something new and it’s brilliant.
7:45am: The day begins as we step off the tube at Blackfriars. As always, Brave enjoys the commute tucked in my bag, making the journey a little easier. He’s used to it by now and loves the attention he gets from fellow commuters. We’re greeted by the familiar sights and sounds of the city as we make our way to the office, where the real fun begins.
8:00am: Once at the office, it’s time to settle in. I fire up my laptop, check yesterday’s campaign performance, and review any progress updates sent through email. A strong coffee is an absolute must at this hour to help me focus and get started on the tasks for the day.
Meanwhile, Brave enjoys his breakfast in his comfy spot, which is usually right next to my desk and then curls up in his bed as I dive into the workday.
9:00am: One of the best perks of our office is the free breakfast. Whether it’s a bowl of porridge, cereal or toast, it’s the perfect way to fuel up for the day ahead. I always look forward to this part of the morning - it makes the commute seem worthwhile and gives me a much-needed energy boost.
Brave is a regular at the canteen, and he’s gained quite the reputation with the staff. He loves the chance for a cuddle while I grab my breakfast and of course, he never turns down a treat.
10:00am: Every other day, the team gets together for a stand-up to flag any questions, queries and concerns. With the team based in various locations around the country, it’s a chance to bond and get to know each other a little better too.
10:30am: Today’s focus begins with brainstorming strategies for our 2025 campaigns. Collaborating with the communications and activation team, we dive into fresh ideas and innovative approaches to tackle upcoming goals. Meanwhile, Brave, our enthusiastic office companion, wanders off to make new friends and enjoy a well-earned ear massage.
11:00am: A much-needed coffee break in the morning helps me reset, while Brave takes the opportunity to stretch his legs and head straight to his favourite coffee shop for his usual puppuccino!
11:30am: It’s time to focus on campaign quality assurance so attention turns to reviewing for typos, monitoring campaign performance and making sure everything is running smoothly. Brave, ever the supervisor, perches on the desk for a closer look.
12:00pm: As midday approaches, thoughts turn to the upcoming year. We outline new workflows and processes aimed at boosting efficiency and fostering collaboration. These conversations set the tone for a streamlined and more connected way of working as we prepare for 2025.
12:30pm: Brave and I take a quick walk to enjoy some fresh air before joining the team for lunch. Naturally, he receives his special midday treat - a well-deserved reward for his efforts in keeping morale high throughout the day.
1:30pm: The afternoon begins with catching up on anything that may have slipped through the cracks. I review emails, answer Teams messages and make adjustments to urgent Google Ads. As I work through the tasks, Brave resumes his desk nap, unbothered by the activity around him.
2:20pm: Later, the PPC team gathers to discuss campaign performance. We share insights, analyse results and align goals for the next quarter. These discussions are a vital part of ensuring we remain on track and continue to innovate in our approach.
3:00pm: I then take on a task slightly outside my usual scope which is to compile screengrabs of competitor performance for our clients. This small gesture is aimed at sparking creative ideas and helping them excel in planning their campaigns for the new year.
4:00pm: As the day winds down, I focus on organising priorities for the week ahead, including scheduling meetings, mapping tasks and pencilling in time for dedicated deep work. Brave then notices the shift in energy and perks up as I wrap up my calendar, he knows this means we’re close to heading home.
4:30pm: It’s time to call it a day and I pack up my things, grab Brave’s leash, and together we head out to catch the tube back home. “Bring on next Friday!” – says Brave.
